Vegan Cuts Snack Box Review

As most of you already know from reading my vegan swaps posts, I like getting things in the mail, well, things that aren’t asking me for money that is. So when Vegan Cuts offered to send me one of their snack boxes to review, I think I actually did a little hand clap mixed with a schoolgirl giggle…it was not a pretty sight…but who am I to care when I knew there were mystery vegan goodies coming my way!

Vegan Cuts has a whole schwack load of amazing treats you can purchase, from tasty snacks to household and body products, it’s really hard to pick something to order, because really, how can you not want it all? Or am I the only one who can’t resist any new vegan product on the market? Seriously, I think I have a problem. I know trying everything on their site would be a little costly, and nobody likes ordering something online, only to discover that they don’t like it, and that’s where the snack box comes into play. If you subscribe, for a small fee, you get an assortment of 8-10 mystery vegan sample items sent to you every month and one of the great things about it is if you find a product you really love, you have the option of ordering the full size straight from their website!

Being all the way across the Canadian border, I thought there was no chance of me getting one of these fabulous boxes, but when I came home from work this past Friday, it just so happen to be sitting there in all it’s magnificent glory on my steps. I’m pretty sure I did another one of those weird little claps and giggles then proceeded to rip that sucker open! I was actually surprised by all the things I received, it took me all of one minute to snap a picture before the Sjaak’s Heart of Cherry disappeared into the bottomless pit, also known as my stomach. Oh my god! So amazing, I’d forgotten how delicious filled chocolates were and as this was the February snack box, it only made sense that it would be in the shape of a cute little heart.

The next item to disappear were the Simply7 Lentil chips, I’ve got to admit that these really surprised me, in a fantastic kind of way! Both me and P kept handing the bag back and forth until they were gone, and then sadness ensued. They were similar to Fritos but waaaay less greasy (as in not greasy at all) and super crunchy with the perfect amount of salt. I could totally sit down and devour a huge bag of these.

I honestly can’t remember the last time I bought gummy candies but the Surf Sweets Fruity Hearts in watermelon flavor brought back memories from my childhood of filling up little paper bags with one cent candies. I’m guessing these are much more natural then the candies I used to buy and even though I greedily thought about hoarding them, I kindly shared the bag with P, because I’m generous like that…..well, in some circumstances that is…the half eaten bag of Dang Foods Toasted Coconut Chips have been hidden deep within the pantry and I ain’t saying where 😉 I loooooove these things! They’re sweet, coconutty and crunchy. They would probably be awesome sprinkled on ice cream or yogurt or something, but I honestly couldn’t tell you because I’ve been eating handfuls out of the bag. The only downside is when you shake the bag, they sound like kitty treats, so anytime I want some I then have to deal with a very disappointed Apollo.

I’m pretty sure I almost ate the PureFit Nutrition Bar in two bites, but in my defense it was after a tough workout and I was absolutely famished! I don’t usually have high expectations for protein bars but I really liked this one. The texture is like the non-veg bars, which is kind of soft and chewy, like a formed paste if you will, but what really won me over was the flavor, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip was the perfect choice for my PB obsessed ass. The peanut butter flavor really comes through, I would definitely order these in the future for an after workout snack.

I haven’t managed to consume EVERYTHING in the box just yet, so the other items I received that will shortly meet their demise are, mint flavored Righteously Raw Chocolate which is a low glycemic antioxidant rich raw cacao square, Merry Hempsters Lip Balm in Peppermint (I’ll be using this once I make my way through my Epic Blend lip balm), a Budi Bar in Star Chai flavor (an interesting raw bar), and three flavors of Serengeti Ticolino Tea, which are neat little tea sticks that you just plop in some hot water and swish around.

Thank you so much Vegan Cuts! I’m uber happy about my snack box, I know not every item can be a winner but I adore almost all of the items that showed up on my doorstep and I plan on ordering more (something I probably wouldn’t have done otherwise). So if you want to try out some new vegan finds that you may not be able to get in your area, this is a great way to do it. It would also make a great gift, which is something I’m keeping in mind for some upcoming birthdays 🙂 Want to order your own snack box? Just check out Vegan Cuts website and take a look through there huge assortment of amazing vegan products, you never know, you might just find something you love.

Nice review! I subscribed to the box two months ago and I find it gret. Although it’s delivered at the very end of the month (I got my Feb box in the last few days of Feb… I’d prefer if the box was named after the following month, but that is really not that much of an issue, right?). The heart-shaped chocolate was to die for. I too had forgotten how delicious filled chocolate was.

I still haven’t tried the coconut chips… I thought they were just like regular large coconut flakes. The lentil chips and the mint chocolate are great.

I loooove getting fun goodies in the mail too. Lentil chips (although we call ’em crisps!) have just burst onto the food scene here too and I love them. One brand does dill flavour and they’re the best.

I keep seeing people reviewing Vegan Cuts boxes and saying how great they are. Next time you order, tell them there’s loads of English vegans that need a box too! Everything in yours looks SO GOOD!
