Vegan Mofo Day 1: Oh Canada!

October 1st is upon us once again and you all know what that means…it’s time to dust off the ol’ Google Reader, get settled in and get mofoing!

This is my second year taking part and I can’t wait to get started. For a while I was hemming and hawing over whether I should go with a theme or just wing it. So to give myself a little bit of focus and come up with a plan I decided on a theme! And that theme is….drum roll please…

Oh Canada!

That’s right boys and girls, my theme for this month will be all things Canada! I’ll be spending the entire month of October posting about traditional Canadian recipes, Canadian inspired recipes, interviews with vegan Canadian companies and reviews on some fantastic Canadian products!

For those of you who may not be familiar with what Vegan Mofo is all about, well let me give you the low down. Vegan Mofo (aka Vegan Month of Food) is an international blogging event where hundreds of bloggers spend the entire month dedicated to writing about nothing else but vegan food, or what I like to call, sheer blogging madness! The blog entries can be about anything food related and will range from a month of vegan street food, or dinner and a horror movie to a month of cookbook reviews.

Now flick on an episode of Degrassi Junior High, get yourself a plate of Poutine and pour yourself some Screech, and don’t forget to come back tomorrow for some Great White North love. Eh!

I am all over your Canadian theme! There’s probably lots I don’t know about my own country’s food traditions and etc, so I’m excited for that. Also kinda gunning for poutine, ha ha. 🙂

I love this theme, hun! All I know about Canadian food is that maple syrup is the best thing ever, (vegan) poutine is yummy and I LOVE DEGRASSI!!!!

I made a poutine a few weeks ago, I was happy that I nailed it! The fact that it is as easy to Veganize made me even happier! The perks of being Canadian 🙂
